Every day I remain practicing the spoken word But I've heard I've interpreted the sound of choking dirt The vibrations of my incantations open Earth I split a fissure across nations as I calmly wrote this verse Note the worst always comes before the brightest dawn The curse hangs most heavy when it seems the light is gone Sad to see that there's no distinction between right and wrong In a world where the poor are pushed around like fighting pawns With the Queen watching on from the back of every coin Capitalists marching on, merciless and never knowing That the cost of a culture like this is ever growing Until we sever the serpent's head, it slithers slowly Through material realms, imperial helms equipped On the heads of soldiers riding greenbacks, holding whips Weaponizing your debt, come to collect before the ship Sails off to the sunset, leaving us dead & derelict. Could we ever ask for more?
