We, Tea Co!
The most important thing that we can do as a species is to bring awareness to Wetiko, the mind virus, the soul destroyer, the source by which evil, war, deception and greed manifest. Jung called it the “seed of evil,” the Gnostics refer to it as the archons. It has also been called, nearly a century ago, “totalitarian psychosis,” a very relevant way to describe its expression today. t is a non-local quantum force in superposition that might be considered the polar opposite of the force that animates life.
Of course, you can deny its existence. These things will continue to happen whether or not you believe in it. But once we recognize its influence we can begin to bring an end to this needless suffering, and the longer we go without recognizing Wetiko the more chance it has to sink its tendrils into the human subconscious and cause us to harm ourselves and others while we believe we are doing good.
“Wetiko is a cannibalizing force driven by insatiable greed, appetite without satisfaction. Consumption as an end in itself, war for its own sake, against tribes, individuals, and even our own humanity. “
It is the primary destructive and disharmonizing force. One of the best ways to counteract it is to express ourselves creatively without hindrance.
Wetiko is the source that causes us to separate from our true nature at an early age, for it’s only when we are separated from our real nature that we will do so many of these things that harm us and harm others. It is a non-local force that manifests both internally and external. Much like the human will, or desire, or resistance, it often operates through the psyche. The main difference between wetiko and these other forces is that it obscures itself and operates autonomously through us, fooling us into identifying with it.
Finally there are a number of people creating a common language to describe this invisible, omnipresent entity that both creates and consumes suffering in our world. Only by having the courage to recognize Wetiko - the blindness that believes itself to be more sighted than those who see clearly and yet obscures our own being from ourselves - and it’s lust for separation, negative emotions, and polarization can we shine light up on it.
Now is the time to do it. Never before has the world being so polarized, so separated, so filled with fear and anxiety. Wetiko is at an all you can eat buffet and growing stronger and larger... so large that it may very well expose itself to enough of us that we can free ourselves from it.
Everything casts a shadow. Be it a stone, a forest, an idea, a philosophy, a society, all things cast a shadow wherein light is obscured. Us, as humans, are ourselves a shadow of our own highest ideal.
